Photo-etched metal seat belts in 1:72 scale for the cockpits of German Second World War aircraft. The detail that turns an empty seat into an inhabited place.
Responsibility details are not available.
Seat belts are the first thing the eye notices in a cockpit. Without them a seat looks flat and empty, even when it is otherwise painted immaculately. Injection-molded plastic can render belts only as a shallow relief, whereas a metal part can be bent over the edge of the seat and left to drape freely, so that it looks like fabric. The difference shows even under a closed canopy, where everyone who picks the model up will look.
The set brings photo-etched metal seat belts for the cockpits of German Second World War aircraft in 1:72 scale. The extent of the fret, the number of complete sets and the types the belts are cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions; the design of the belts differed between individual aircraft, so it is worth checking the intended application in advance.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with side cutters, which distort the metal. Shape them gradually with tweezers and keep checking the position dry. They are glued with super glue, which you apply from a drop with the tip of a toothpick so that it does not run over the seat. If you are going to paint them, degrease the metal first and use a primer, otherwise the coat will rub off while the cockpit is being assembled.
The set is for the modeler who builds with an open cockpit, or who wants things in order even where they can only be seen through the glazing. In 1:72 scale the parts are really small, so tweezers and good light are a necessity. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
