The real subject

Aircraft of the First World War period often used wheels with tensioned wire spokes, which were usually covered with fabric. On uncovered wheels the fine wire structure is a prominent and period-faithful feature, one that injection-molded plastic cannot render faithfully.

Use and fitting

Choose the disc that matches the diameter of the wheel, separate it from the fret and glue it on with super glue. The parts can be painted as needed. The work calls for tweezers, a magnifier and precision.
