The Zlin Z-XIII is a single-engine low-wing monoplane of the end of the 1930s, created at the Zlin aircraft works in Czechoslovakia. It was a cleanly streamlined fast sport machine of wooden construction, with a slender fuselage and a small inline engine; the type was built precisely for the ratio of power to speed. Only a small number were made, which makes it all the more rewarding a subject for modelers.
Dry-fit the parts in advance and be ready to refine the mating surfaces a little. Glue with thin cement for plastic and deal with the cockpit before closing the fuselage. The smooth painted finish of the real aircraft rewards careful surface preparation, so it is better to fill the joints and sand them with fine paper and to spray the surface with a filler primer before painting. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats, lay the decals on a gloss varnish and finally seal everything with a clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
