An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous civil rigid airship Zeppelin LZ127 Graf Zeppelin in 1:720 scale from Mark I Models. The package usually also contains a display stand and decals that allow the ship to be built as it looked in several operating periods. Check the exact package contents and the number of schemes against the instructions. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
The LZ127 Graf Zeppelin was the most successful airship in history. It was of rigid construction - a metal lattice framework covered with doped fabric, with gas cells inside. Passengers and crew moved about in a gondola built into the lower front of the hull, while engines in separate gondolas on the sides drove pusher propellers. The ship was launched at the end of the 1920s, became famous for its flight around the world and a series of long-distance voyages, and stayed in regular service until the end of the 1930s.
Given the tiny scale, the main challenge is the clean assembly of the long hull and the fine engine gondolas - clean the parts up carefully and glue them accurately so that the hull stays straight. The silvery covering is best created with an airbrush over a smooth primer; metallic shades come into their own on a perfectly sanded surface. Glue the small parts of the gondolas and the tail surfaces thoughtfully, ideally with super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
