Maple leaves in a green summer version for 1:72 and 1:87 scale. It is a loose scenery material for foliating trees and bushes, not a finished tree.

A package of small leaves in the shape of a maple leaf from the Czech diorama vegetation manufacturer Model Scene. It is a loose material from the manufacturer's foliage range — the package holds no trunk, no armature and nothing to assemble. The size of the leaf matches 1:72 and 1:87 scale; the manufacturer gives both, because at this size the difference between them is on the limit of what can be told apart. The material therefore suits a scene in 1:72 just as well as a layout in 1:87.
Green maple represents full summer foliage. Most often it is sprinkled onto the armature of a tree or a bush — onto natural plant armatures, seafoam and your own wire armature — and creates a crown with a readable leaf shape that blown scatter on its own cannot give. It works equally well as undergrowth under trees, saplings by walls and fences, greenery caught on roofs and in gutters, or natural camouflage pushed into the brackets of a combat vehicle.
Apply thinned PVA glue or a spray adhesive to the armature and sprinkle the foliage into it from a dish. Shake off the excess and repeat the process in layers — two thin layers look better than one thick one. On terrain use thinned PVA glue with a drop of dish soap, so that the foliage does not bunch into islands. Mixing two or three shades gives the growth depth. The finished area can be fixed with matte varnish sprayed from a greater distance.
This is a scenery material, not a kit and not a finished tree. The tree armature, the glue and the terrain substrate are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
