This is a small diorama accessory from Dynamo-Models. It carries the emblem of the unit which the name gives as 35th SS-Police Grenadier Division, and the name gives the size of 40 mm. The designation refers to a German unit from the very close of the Second World War. It is not a model of a vehicle or of an aircraft and it is not a kit, but a standalone element with which a base, a display case or a diorama scene is completed.
Plaques of this kind work as a descriptive element of a display. They are placed on the front of a base under a figure or a vehicle, on the side of a diorama board or into a display case, so that the viewer sees at once which unit the scene professes. The same subject comes out in two sizes, so the dimension can be matched to the size of the base: the smaller variant sits well with individual figures, the larger with more extensive scenes and with display case arrangements.
Clean the area of the base of dust and grease before fixing it, otherwise the accessory will not hold. The relief of the emblem stands out best when the background is unified with a darker shade and the edges are carefully highlighted; the transitions then need only be matched with fine toning. Lay out the position of the plaque before the final surface treatment of the base, so that you do not have to intrude into a finished scene.
