A primer in an aerosol can holding 400 ml. The gray shade is the classic choice wherever the base coat should help but not interfere with the final color: it does not distort light camouflage, it does not reduce its saturation and at the same time it gives the paint something to hold on to. It is also the best control layer — on an even gray, unsanded seams, scratches and fingerprints that are invisible on bare plastic show up at once.

Use

• general priming of plastic, resin, photo-etched parts and metal parts
• a base under light and medium-saturated shades, where a dark primer would dull the color
• checking the surface after sanding and filling, before you start painting
• unifying a model made up of different materials into one shade
• shake the can for two minutes before spraying and apply it in short passes from a distance of roughly twenty to thirty centimeters

Who it is for

For modelers who want a reliable base coat without an airbrush and without mixing. A gray primer is the safe choice for most of a build, above all on aircraft with light undersides, on figures and everywhere you apply the paint in thin coats. Spray at room temperature, in thin coats, and let the coating cure. Try a new can out first on an offcut of a sprue.
