An aftermarket accessory, not a whole model. The turned metal barrel replaces the plastic barrel from the kit and gives the American gun of 76.2 mm caliber a faithful straight profile and a sharp muzzle end.
The American M1 gun of 76.2 mm caliber was developed during the Second World War as a more capable replacement for the basic gun of 75 mm caliber in medium tanks. It was used in the later versions of the Sherman tank and in the M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, and it offered a higher muzzle velocity and better penetration against armor.
Remove the plastic barrel, clean up the mating surface in the turret and glue the metal barrel in with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer for the airbrush. Depending on the kit, consider adding a muzzle brake if the particular variant carried one.
This is a separate detail accessory (a metal barrel), not a complete kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
