Flexible Stencils - Digital Camo (5 mm), Green Stuff World

A flexible stencil from the Flexible Stencils line from the brand Green Stuff World with the motif of digital (pixel) camouflage. The figure of 5 mm in the name gives the size of the element of the pattern, that is how large the individual pixels are - and that governs which scale the stencil suits. Unlike the adhesive masks of a particular kit, this is a universal stencil: you use it on any model, vehicle or figure and on gaming bases and terrain.

What it is and what it is not

It is not a set of masks cut to the shape of a particular model and it is not a decal. It is a pattern stencil that you lay on a surface and spray or stipple the paint through. The flexibility is the main advantage - the stencil follows even curved surfaces, where a rigid plastic template will not sit.

Use

• Let the surface dry thoroughly, ideally after the base color on which the pattern is to go.
• Lay the stencil on and press it down so that it touches the surface over its whole area - otherwise the paint runs underneath.
• Apply the paint thinly and in several passes, not in one thick coat. An airbrush or stippling with a sponge works best.
• Take the stencil off before the paint has dried completely, so that it does not lift with the edge of the deposit.
• Clean the stencil after use, so that dried paint does not settle in the openings.

Who it is for

For modelers of modern military vehicles and aircraft with pixel schemes, for players of tabletop games and for anyone who needs a repeatable pattern without laborious hand painting.

When spraying, work in a ventilated room and use breathing protection.
