A collector's figure in the 90 mm format from the figure line of AK Interactive. Ninety millimeters is the height of the figure itself, not a proportional scale: against the common figures for vehicles in 1:35 scale it is almost double, and the area for painting grows even more markedly. That is precisely the point of the large formats - the figure is not built as an addition to a scene but as a standalone exhibit on which every brush stroke is visible. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The exact number of parts, the material of the castings and whether a base is included are found on the packaging.
The figure belongs to an original figure line in which historicizing and fantasy motifs appear alongside each other and the individual figures bear a given name and an epithet. A freer subject has one practical advantage for a painter: he is not bound by the prescribed coloring of a period, so he can choose the palette according to his own intention and concentrate on light, material contrasts and the mood of the result.
If the parts are cast from resin, wash them first in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand them under water or with respiratory protection - resin dust should not be inhaled. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and on larger joints use a pin made of wire. Fill the seams and polish them; in a large format they are mercilessly visible. Spray the primer in a thin coat. Build the flesh and the face by layering with a large number of intermediate tones; oil paints suit soft transitions of fabric, while acrylic with sharper edges suits metal and leather. Finally unify the sheen of the individual materials and seat the figure on a base that does not compete with it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
