An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-70B light tank in 1:100 scale from Zvezda. The model belongs to the range of quick builds designed for tabletop wargames: the parts go together by snap-fit, so you can build the model even without glue and without experience. Thanks to the small scale the finished tank is only a few centimeters long and suits large gaming units as well as small dioramas.
The T-70 was a Soviet light tank built at the GAZ plant in Gorky from 1942. The T-70B version received a strengthened running gear, a modified exhaust and a new driver's hatch. The two-man crew had a 45 mm gun and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. The Red Army used these tanks in the Battle of Kursk among other actions; they were gradually replaced by self-propelled guns built on their chassis.
Clean the joints up gently and sand them back, or secure them with a drop of modeling cement for plastic to be safe. In the small scale simple, clean finishes come out best: a base of Soviet dark green, a light lift on the edges and a restrained patina with dust pigment and a wash into the recesses. An airbrush makes an even base easier, and the details can then be picked out with a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
