An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 in 1:1200 scale from Revell. It is a smaller, straightforward model with a low part count, finely rendered superstructure and an enclosed decal sheet. The assembled model is roughly 24 cm long, so it fits nicely even on a smaller shelf or into a collection of famous ships.
The Queen Elizabeth 2, known as the QE2, was the British flagship of the Cunard Line. She entered service at the end of the 1960s and for decades served as a fast transatlantic liner and a luxury cruise ship on the route between Europe and America. At over 290 meters long, with several decks, swimming pools and room for thousands of passengers, she was among the best-known passenger ships of the second half of the 20th century and became a true floating icon.
Work with liquid polystyrene cement and glue the small superstructure parts in subassemblies. It is practical to airbrush the hull and the deck before final assembly; the black hull, white superstructure and red-and-black funnel are characteristic. Coat the surfaces with a gloss varnish before the decals, so that the markings settle without silvering. The model can be set on the enclosed stand as a full-hull version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
