1:144 Yakovlev Yak-23 Flora is a plastic kit of the Soviet first-generation jet fighter from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikromir. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

A plastic kit in 1:144 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikromir, which concentrates on submarines and less usual aircraft. The real subject is the Yakovlev Yak-23, Flora in the NATO code — the last and the most successful of the line of Yakovlev jet fighters with a straight wing. In 1:144 scale the model is small, so the build is more a matter of working with detail than with large surfaces.
The Yak-23 first flew on July 8, 1947. It was powered by a Klimov RD-500 jet engine, which was a faithful copy of the British Rolls-Royce Derwent V, and its armament consisted of two NR-23 cannon of 23 mm caliber mounted in the nose. Series production ran from October 1949 to January 1951 and over three hundred machines were produced. Besides the Soviet Air Force the type also flew with the Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian and Czechoslovak air forces; it disappeared from service in the first half of the sixties, when swept-wing fighters took its place.
Cut the small parts off with a margin and clean them up with a file rather than with side cutters. Landing gear legs in 1:144 will take very little — glue them on only after the painting of the fuselage is finished. Do not spray a metallic sheen onto a rough surface: sand the primer smooth, and only then will the surface read as duralumin sheet. Decals in this scale settle only on a gloss coat and with a little decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
