1:24 Type G4 with MG 34 and German Staff Personnel is a plastic kit of the three-axle staff car Mercedes-Benz Type G4 in 1:24 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in the large automotive scale of 1:24. The subject is the heavy three-axle staff car Mercedes-Benz Type G4, factory designation W31, in the version with an MG 34 machine gun and with figures of German staff personnel, as the name of the set states. The number of parts, the number of figures and the decal options are stated by the manufacturer on the box of the kit.
The Type G4 came about in the middle of the 1930s as a car that was at once ceremonial and capable off road, meant for the highest command. The six-wheel chassis with drive to both rear axles gave the car a mobility that ordinary limousines did not have, and the long body gave room for an escort. Only very few were built, so it was a machine for protocol rather than for combat; the machine gun and the crew point to field use with staffs. The MG 34 was a German general-purpose machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber introduced in the 1930s, used on a bipod as well as on vehicle mounts.
The car has large smooth surfaces, so it pays to sand the mold seams on the body carefully and to use a filler primer; on a gloss finish every mark would otherwise show. Finish the frame, the suspension and the interior before you close the body up. Paint the figures separately and set them in place only at the end, when it is clear where they actually fit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
