A set of replacement wheels in resin in 1:32 scale from the Reskit brand, intended for building a model of the advanced trainer North American T-6 Texan. It replaces the wheels from the plastic kit and so refines the most conspicuous part of the fixed undercarriage, which this type has partly covered by fairings. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory. Check the exact number of parts and the contents of the package on the packaging; do not count on masks or other parts in advance.
The T-6 was a two-seat trainer with a radial engine, which in the 1930s and 1940s served for the advanced training of pilots. With the US Navy it was designated SNJ, and in British and Commonwealth service it flew under the name Harvard. It was produced in large numbers, it flew for decades, and to this day it is among the most widespread historic aircraft in private hands. Characteristic is the fixed tailwheel undercarriage with the main wheels set into the wing root.
Rid the parts of mold release by washing them in warm soapy water before painting. Cut off the casting blocks with a fine saw and true up the contact patch, so that the model stands level on its fixed undercarriage. They are bonded with super glue. Finish the tire with matte varnish, while the rim, on the contrary, may have a slightly higher sheen on a polished trainer. On aircraft in civilian or warbird guise the wheels tend to be clean, whereas on period training machines they are dusty, so choose the degree of weathering according to the scheme you pick.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
