Set of figures of Soviet airmen from 1939 to 1942 in 1:32 scale, to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The abbreviation in the name refers to the air force of the Red Army, and the dates point to the start of the war, the period before re-equipment with later aircraft types. Figures of airmen give a finished model its scale: only next to a human figure does it become clear how big the machine really was, and a crew standing by an aircraft turns a display case into a small scene.
The set holds figures in 1:32 scale to be assembled and painted. The number of figures, their poses and their equipment are shown in the manufacturer's illustration on the box. For a figure, 1:32 is a fairly large scale, so the face and the folds of the clothing will carry detailed painting and are worth the time.
Cut away excess material and traces of production with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the remainder; in a large scale every ridge left behind shows. Fill the joints at the arms and the head with putty and sand them back, otherwise the paint will let them show through. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. Paint the face from the bottom up: a base tone, a darker shade in the recesses and a lighter tone on the raised areas. Keep the uniform on the flat side and add the sheen only at the end, on the leather parts and the glass of the goggles.
The figure set is supplied on its own. The aircraft model, paints, putty and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
