A set of resin figures in 1:35 scale, the manufacturer's part number FI35-137. It is not a replacement turret nor a vehicle part: the word set here means a group of tankers modeled so that they fit into the turret hatches of the Pz III and Pz IV medium tanks. The manufacturer labels a whole range of similar sets the same way, so they are always figures. You get the tanks on their own.
Deutsches Afrikakorps fought in North Africa between 1941 and 1943 and its crews wore tropical dress that differed markedly from the European one: light canvas, trousers of a looser cut, a tropical cap or a sun helmet. In the desert they drove with the hatches open, because inside the hull the heat was unbearable, and the crew was therefore far more visible from outside than in Europe. That is exactly what makes figures for the turret hatches so useful in African scenes.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water before the paint goes on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Try the figures dry in the hatches before gluing, so that the shoulders and the elbows do not rub against the rim. Light tropical dress takes a weaker glaze and a fine dust pigment better than a saturated wash, which would needlessly dirty the canvas.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
