A set of photo-etched metal fenders for building the German tank destroyer Sd.Kfz.138/2 Hetzer in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but a metal detail accessory for models of the Sd.Kfz.138/2 Hetzer tank destroyer, usable on every version. The metal fenders replace the thick, flat plastic parts from the box.
The fenders of the Hetzer were made of thin sheet steel and on the real vehicle were often bent, dented or partly missing after combat. Photo-etched metal allows a true thin edge and realistic buckling and damage, which a thick plastic molding cannot give you. The set is designed to be universal, so it fits the early as well as the late version.
Separate the fenders with a sharp knife and shape them carefully over a cylindrical object or with tweezers; for a damaged look you can deliberately buckle them a little. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Treat the metal with a primer before painting. For weathering, washes and pigments work well.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
