ICM 1:35 French Infantry on the march (1914) is a set of unassembled plastic soldier figures in the early uniforms of the First World War. Suited to dioramas and to vehicles alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds injection-molded plastic figures of French infantrymen of the opening of the First World War in 1:35 scale. The soldiers are caught in a marching pose and wear the period uniform of 1914 with its characteristic blue tunic and red trousers, that is still before the change to the blue-gray field uniform. A set of period weapons and equipment is usually included. The maker is ICM. The figures come into their own in dioramas or as an addition to models of vehicles in the same scale.
The French army went into the war in 1914 still in the colorful uniforms of the 19th century, which in modern combat exposed the soldiers badly to the enemy. It is this era of mobile war and marching columns that belongs among the iconic images of the opening of the conflict.
Part the pieces carefully from the sprues and cement them with glue for plastic. For a convincing look a primer pays off, together with smooth gradations on the uniforms and a light emphasis of the folds by shading and dry brushing. The faces and hands come out well with careful shading of the skin.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
