A set of 3D-printed replacement parts in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Special Hobby. It contains towing eyes, a horn guard and an antenna base for a model of the American tank destroyer. The manufacturer states that the parts carry markedly better detail than the plastic kit parts.
The M36 Jackson was an American tank destroyer of the end of the Second World War with a 90 mm gun in an open rotating turret. At the front and the rear of the hull it had massive towing eyes, a horn guard on the fender and an antenna base on the turret. These are small things that are hard to shape in injection-molded plastic, yet on a finished model they sit in the most visible places.
The parts are printed from photopolymer, so thin print supports are left on them. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel or with nippers for photo-etched parts and sand the marks down with fine abrasive paper. They are bonded with super glue, that is with cyanoacrylate, because cement for polystyrene has no effect on this material. Apply a filler primer before painting, which will also reveal any remains of the supports. It is best to sand wet and with your airways protected.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
