A small diorama accessory in 1:35 scale from the brand GINGER CAT. The set holds three milk drums, that is the containers which were used throughout the 20th century to collect milk from farms and take it to dairies. In a diorama it is a prop which gives a scene a civilian, rural character at once, whether it stands by the wall of a farmstead, on the bed of a truck, or lies tipped over on the road shoulder.
Separate the parts from the sprue gates carefully and level the surfaces left by the cut; do the sanding with your airways protected. Degrease the surface before painting and lay on a primer, otherwise a thin coat will hold poorly on the smooth surface. The drums tended to be of tinned sheet or of aluminum, so a cool metallic shade suits them; for a richer impression add a dark wash into the recesses and lighten the upper edges and the rims with a dry brush. A little rust by the bottom and deposits of dust will turn a new container into a prop long in use. If the drums are part of the cargo, bring them together with the same pigment as the ground around them.
