1:35 Oxalis Flower (8pcs)

Low vegetation 1:35 Oxalis Flower (8pcs)

The accessory 1:35 Oxalis Flower (8pcs) belongs among the scenic accessories for a diorama, specifically to low vegetation. It is neither a kit nor a part of a model, but a plant detail for a scene. The name gives the scale 1:35 and a count of eight pieces. Wood sorrel (Oxalis) is a low tufted herb with trifoliate heart-shaped leaflets and small blossoms which grows at the edges of paths, by walls and in the joints of paving.

What the accessory is for

Vegetation is the thing on a diorama that decides credibility of scale. An even green scatter looks artificial, while individual recognizable plants give a scene size and a season at once. Wood sorrel suits the foot of walls, curbs, the joints between cobblestones and the neglected corners of yards. Eight pieces make it possible to create several irregular little groups; it is precisely the irregularity that comes across naturally, while a regular arrangement gives a scene away.

Usage tips

• Place the plants in groups of unequal size and leave bare spots between them.
• Try the arrangement out dry before fitting and only then mark the holes.
• Glue at single points so that the glue does not run into the leaves and flood the detail.
• Join the plant to its surroundings in color; a fine dusting of pigment at the foot will bring the transition to the ground together.
• Leave the blossoms lighter than the leaves, otherwise the whole tuft will blend together to the eye.

Who the accessory is for

• Builders of dioramas in 1:35 who fine-tune the details of vegetation
• Modelers of urban and rural scenes with neglected corners
• Anyone who wants to replace a uniform scatter with recognizable plants
