A set of small clamps for the pioneer tools of models of German armored vehicles in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit but a detail accessory. According to the name it holds 24 pieces, and it is the small make meant for the early types of tanks, designated as version 1.
At the start of the war the hull of a German tank looked different from the way it did in the last months of the conflict. The tools were laid out more carefully and were held in clamps that were nicely machined and often finer than the later simplified items. This difference is precisely one of the details by which the date of a machine can be guessed from a photograph. Modelers who build the equipment of the campaigns in Poland and France or of the first months in the east therefore have a reason to change the clamps even when the shape out of the box does not otherwise bother them.
The work is fine, so have tweezers with a delicate tip and good lighting ready. Cut the original molded clamps off with a scalpel, level the surface, and mark the layout of the new ones out beforehand with a pencil according to photographs of the day. Apply the glue in a minimal amount, carried on the tip of a wire. Do the painting together with the hull so that the clamps do not come across as stuck on afterwards, and only then add the tools in their own shades. A small trace of wear on the edge of a clamp will give away that the tools really were handled.
