A set of wheels with a weighted flat spot for a model of the Dornier Do 335 Pfeil in 1:48 scale. A replacement for the wheels from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil is a German fighter of the late Second World War with an arrangement that has no parallel: two piston engines are mounted on the center line of the fuselage one behind the other, the front one driving a tractor propeller in the nose and the rear one a pusher propeller at the end of the fuselage. Because of the rear propeller the airplane was given cruciform tail surfaces and nose landing gear. The machine was very fast for its day, and its high weight showed in the sizable wheels of the main landing gear as well.
The set brings wheels for a Do 335 model in 1:48 scale in the flattened version, that is, with a flat area where the tire meets the ground. The model therefore does not stand on its wheels as if on a compass point but really bears on them. The wheels replace the parts from the kit and offer more readable relief on the disc and the tread.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, use cyanoacrylate glue to bond them and check the details in the manufacturer's instructions. When fitting them, watch that the flattened area faces the ground and that the model stands on all its wheels at once. The tire and the disc are easiest to paint separately before fitting, with a mask or a template on the disc.
The airplane model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
