This is a photo-etched metal detail set (vol.2, add-on), not a kit for the whole vehicle. The set replaces the plastic fenders with thin metal parts of true profile and adds their metal fittings and brackets, which injected plastic cannot capture. It is meant as an add-on for a model of the Panzer I Ausf.A in 1:35 scale and follows on from the basic photo-etched set.
The Panzer I Ausf.A was a German light tank from the first half of the 1930s with an air-cooled Krupp engine and machine gun armament in the turret. It was fielded in the Spanish Civil War and in the early campaigns of the Second World War, where it served mainly for training and as a support vehicle. Thin metal fenders markedly improve the scale look of the model.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and form the bends on a photo-etch bending tool. The fenders can be gently curved and given small deformations for a more realistic effect. To bond metal to plastic, use cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue, and apply a metal primer before painting.
This is a detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
