Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G Mid/Late 2 in 1 from Border Model is a plastic kit of the German medium tank in 1:35 scale from which either the mid or the late production version can be built.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw.IV medium tank in the Ausf.G version. The 2 in 1 designation means the box holds parts for two production versions - mid and late - and the modeler decides for one of them during the build. The set offers a choice of two gun lengths, photo-etched side armor skirts for the hull and turret, road wheels in two versions, spare track links and additional equipment. The tracks come in two variants, in part-assembled runs and as individual links.
The Pz.Kpfw.IV was the most widely used German medium tank of the Second World War and the only one produced throughout its whole course. The Ausf.G version was built in 1942 and 1943 and marks the turning point in its armament - in place of the short gun it received the long 7.5 cm KwK 40, on later examples in the lengthened barrel version. Add-on armor for the hull and turret was gradually added, along with the side armor skirts, in German Schürzen, meant to protect against anti-tank rifles and shaped-charge ammunition. It is exactly the combination of the long gun and the Schürzen that gives vehicles of this period their characteristic silhouette.
First decide which version you are building and choose the barrel, wheels and equipment accordingly - some of the parts will go unused. Finish and paint the running gear and the internal surfaces of the hull before the hull is closed. Bend the photo-etched skirts on a bender or over a straight edge, bond them with super glue and feel free to leave them slightly bent or incomplete, because in service they were often damaged. After the base color and a matte coat, use gloss varnish under the decals, then washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud in the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
