Aber Steyr RSO mit Pak 40 – Vol. 3 (fighting platform) is an add-on photo-etched metal set in 1:35 for refining the fighting platform with the self-propelled gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal detail set from Aber in 1:35 scale, the third part of the range (Vol. 3), aimed at the fighting platform of the improvised German Steyr RSO tank destroyer with the 7.5 cm Pak 40 gun. It adds thin metal items to the superstructure on which the gun is mounted.
The Steyr RSO (Raupenschlepper Ost) served as a fully tracked tractor; in the late part of the war the Germans mounted a 7.5 cm Pak 40 gun on its chassis on an open fighting platform. It is precisely this platform, with its grab handles, drop sides and brackets, that is such a rewarding place for photo-etched parts on a model.
Break the photo-etched parts carefully out of the fret with a sharp knife and clean up the edges. Make the bends along the etched score lines using a bending tool or two rulers; thicker parts can be briefly annealed to make them easier to form. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with two-part epoxy. Apply a primer to the metal before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold.
This is a photo-etched detail set, not the model itself. The model, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
