An injection-molded plastic kit of the Swedish Strv.104 tank in 1:35 scale from Amusing Hobby. The model captures the late form of the Centurion in Swedish service with add-on explosive reactive armor (ERA) on the front and an upgraded powerpack. Photo-etched sheet, suspension springs and individual track links are usually included; check the exact contents against the particular package.
The Strv.104 was the last version of the British Centurion tank used by the Swedish Army. In the 1980s the Swedish Army had older vehicles rebuilt: they were given a new engine and transmission (derived from the American M60) and explosive reactive armor was added to the front. The armament was the proven British 105 mm L7 gun. The upgrade kept a robust Cold War tank combat-capable into a later era.
First assemble the running gear, any interior and the suspension springs, and only then close up the hull, because the tracks and the wheels are hard to reach afterwards. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate. Even out the base with a primer and spray the Swedish camouflage with an airbrush. Weathering comes from washes into the details and dust pigments on the running gear and the ERA blocks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
