About product

Turned barrels for the 12.7 mm Vickers machine gun 1:350, Aber

A set of twenty turned metal barrels in 1:350 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. They replace the plastic barrels of the 12.7 mm Vickers Mk.III anti-aircraft machine guns on models of Royal Navy ships. It is a fine detail accessory, not a ship model.

The real subject

Water-cooled 12.7 mm Vickers machine guns served as the light anti-aircraft defense of a number of British vessels. In 1:350 scale the barrels are very thin, and turned metal renders them far more faithfully than plastic.

Building tips

Work with tweezers and good lighting. Cut the plastic barrels off and replace them with the metal parts, degreasing them before gluing. Glue with a small amount of super glue and remove any excess at once.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of ships in 1:350 focused on the detail of the light armament
  • Builders of Royal Navy vessels
  • Experienced modelers used to small metal parts

This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
