A set of turned brass barrels for the heavy cruiser Mogami (1942) (1:350, Aber) for models of Japanese warships. A metal detail accessory replacing the plastic barrels of the armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Polish manufacturer Aber contains turned brass barrels in 1:350 scale for models of the Japanese heavy cruiser Mogami as she was in 1942. It is not a ship model but a precise metal accessory that replaces the plastic barrels and gives the guns a crisp and faithful profile.
The Mogami was built as a light cruiser with 155 mm guns, but she was later rearmed as a heavy cruiser with 203 mm main guns in twin turrets. In 1942 she therefore carried an eight-inch main battery. The ship took part in the fighting in the Pacific, including the Battle of Midway.
You cut the plastic barrels off carefully and replace them with the brass ones. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and degrease the joint beforehand. A coat of primer and a gray shade matching Japanese naval camouflage are recommended.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
