An accessory set in 1:48 scale by the SBS Model brand, intended to complete a plastic kit of the B-17G heavy bomber. It deals with two areas that are the most exposed to view on a finished model: the chin turret under the nose and the bombardier's space behind the glazed tip. The base kit is not included in the package. The number of parts and their material are given on the packaging.
The B-17G was the last and most numerously built production version of the Boeing B-17. The most conspicuous change compared with earlier versions was the chin turret, added under the nose to defend the forward sector. The glazed nose remained the station of the bombardier and the navigator. Given that this whole part of the model is visible through the clear parts, it is one of the typical places where builders reach for accessory sets.
Start from dry fitting: set the parts into the fuselage, check how the clear tip sits, and only then glue. Sand any traces of manufacture away with a fine abrasive and protect your airways while sanding. Paint the interior and bring it out with a wash and a dry brush before you close the nose. Use super glue in small doses for the bonding, ideally applied with a wooden stick or a piece of wire, so that the clear parts are not fogged. Mask and spray those only at the end of the build.
