Resin wheels with weighted tires for a model of the Convair B-58 Hustler bomber in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian maker Armory. An accessory for a model, not a kit.

A set of cast wheels with weighted tires for a model of the American supersonic bomber Convair B-58 Hustler in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the kit. On this type it is the most laborious part of the landing gear of all: each main leg carried a bogie with eight small wheels in two rows of four, so there is a long row of wheels on the model and every plastic one would want its seam sanded down. The one-piece casting does not have it, and the underside of the tire is flattened, as if the weight of the machine were pressing on the wheel.
The B-58 Hustler was the first supersonic strategic bomber of the United States Air Force. It had a delta wing, four engines in separate nacelles under the wing and carried its load, along with fuel, in a jettisonable pod under the fuselage. The crew of three sat in tandem in separate cockpits. It entered service in 1960. The bogies with many small wheels came out of necessity: large wheels would not have fitted into the thin wing, so only small fairings arose on its underside.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the face down, protecting your breathing while you sand. Glue with cyanoacrylate, that is, super glue; cement for polystyrene does not hold on resin. Point the flattened part of the tire toward the base and align both sides. Spray a primer before painting.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
