An injection-molded plastic kit of the American military aircraft Cessna O-2A in the late production variant, 1:48 scale, made by ICM. A modern kit with a finely engraved surface and a well laid out interior corresponds to the later series of this machine. The enclosed decals allow period American markings. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The O-2 Skymaster was the military version of the civilian twin-engine Cessna 337 with the unconventional arrangement of a tractor and a pusher engine in the fuselage axis and a pair of tail booms. With the US Air Force it served above all as a forward air control machine and for reconnaissance and liaison, markedly so during the Vietnam conflict. The O-2A version was the armed observation and forward air control variant; late production brought small changes in manufacture.
You will manage the build with ordinary procedures: clean the parts up and glue them with thin modeling cement, and finish the interior and the cockpit before closing the fuselage up. Mask the broken-up cockpit glazing carefully. Apply the paint over a good base, ideally with an airbrush; the landing gear fairings and the booms will appreciate attention when they are seated.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
