An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light carrier-based attack aircraft A-4M Skyhawk in 1:48 scale from manufacturer Magic Factory. The kit is based on a new tooling and is focused on aggressor (adversary) color schemes of the US Navy from Naval Air Station Miramar. It includes photo-etched parts, masking and mirror decals, and a metal pitot tube; a number of movable surfaces are separate, so they can be posed during assembly.
The A-4 Skyhawk was a compact, light, and agile single-seat attack aircraft whose simplicity and low operating costs earned it a long career. The A-4M version represented the peak of its development, with a more powerful engine and upgraded avionics. Its small size and lively handling made the Skyhawk an ideal adversary aircraft for air combat training — in aggressor units it simulated an opponent and often flew without its built-in cannons.
Glue the plastic with thin liquid cement, sand the seams before painting, and prime the surface. The colorful aggressor camouflage stands out when sprayed in layers with an airbrush; use masks and templates for sharp transitions. The movable surfaces and open panels let you add life to the model even without extra accessories.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
