The F-4J was the naval version of the successful Phantom II intended for the US Navy and US Marine Corps. The two-seat, twin-engine aircraft was among the most capable fighters of the 1960s and 1970s, carrying powerful engines, radar and a wide range of guided missiles and bombs. It was deployed in the Vietnam War and, in a slightly modified form, also served with the Royal Air Force.
Glue the parts with thin liquid cement, and fill and sand the fuselage seams. Paint and highlight the cockpits before closing up the fuselage, and glue the canopy carefully with cement made for clear plastics. Assemble the underwing stores (tanks, armament) according to the chosen scheme. After applying gloss varnish and decals, highlight the panel lines with a wash and add the typical wear of a carrier-based aircraft.
