This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss captures the late cannon-armed version of the legendary Vought F4U-4B Corsair carrier fighter with its characteristic inverted gull wing. The model offers finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and engine section.
The Corsair was among the most successful carrier fighters of the Second World War and of the Korean War. The F4U-4 version had a more powerful engine and a four-blade propeller, while the F4U-4B variant differed from the standard in its heavier armament of four cannons instead of machine guns. Corsairs with the inverted gull wing, shaped like an upside-down W, are easy to recognize.
Glue with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully. The typical dark blue naval finish looks its best on a smooth base with the panels lightly accentuated. With the inverted gull wing, watch the correct angle when gluing so that the landing gear sits properly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
