Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F8F Bearcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from Academy. The parts allow the F8F-1 version or the later F8F-2 to be built. The package holds clear parts and decals with markings tied to the aircraft carrier USS Tarawa.
The Grumman F8F Bearcat was an American carrier fighter from the end of the Second World War, designed as a light, high-performance interceptor for the defense of aircraft carriers. The F8F-1 version carried four machine guns, while the later F8F-2 had an armament of four 20 mm cannons. The Bearcat stood out for its excellent rate of climb and agility.
Decide on the F8F-1 or the F8F-2 before you start, as they differ in armament and detail. Paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. Glue the glazing with a cement for clear parts and mask the frames. Apply the glossy metal or dark blue naval finish with an airbrush, and then the decals onto a gloss surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
