About product

SBS Model Ki-84 Hayate (Frank) - seats 1:48

This is a resin set of pilot seats for a model of the Japanese Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate fighter (Allied code name Frank) in 1:48 scale. The set is not a kit in its own right but a detail accessory for the cockpit: accurately cast seats with thin walls and fine definition will replace the coarser plastic parts out of the box.

What the set is for

Resin seats have a more faithful shape and thinner edges than injection-molded parts and will lift the look of an open cockpit. The seats are used while building a corresponding model of the Ki-84 in this scale.

Usage tips

First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut away the casting blocks and sand them. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. When sanding resin, protect your airways, and apply a primer before painting.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the Ki-84 Hayate in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone interested in a more detailed cockpit
  • More advanced builders used to resin
  • Collectors of Japanese fighters of the Second World War

The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
