Republic P-47D-15/16 Thunderbolt PTO Razorbacks (Basic Kit) is a plastic kit of the American fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from MiniArt.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy American fighter-bomber P-47D Thunderbolt in the early razorback form (with the decking behind the cockpit faired over and a framed canopy) in 1:48 scale from MiniArt. The PTO Razorbacks boxing focuses on aircraft committed in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The Basic Kit version contains the plastic parts only, with no photo-etch and no masks.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest and most rugged single-seat fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine with a turbocharger, and its standard armament consisted of eight 12.7 mm machine guns in the wings. The P-47D-15/16 versions belong to the razorback form, that is before the bubble canopy was introduced. The Thunderbolt was valued for its long range, its toughness and its effectiveness both in air combat and in attacks on ground targets.
Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Before painting we recommend treating the surface with a primer and applying the shades with an airbrush in thin coats. The metal surfaces of Thunderbolts were either in a natural metal finish or in olive drab camouflage - it pays to stick to the particular scheme you have chosen. Panel lines can be picked out with a wash, and a matte or semi-gloss varnish will even the finish out at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
