Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine de Havilland DH.88 Comet racing aircraft in 1:72 scale from Clear Prop Models, in the Advanced version. The Advanced designation means a richer package than the basic line: besides the plastic parts, the set contains clear parts and photo-etch for fine detail. The edition focuses on the famous long-distance MacRobertson Trophy race. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The DH.88 Comet is a slender two-seat, twin-engine aircraft that de Havilland designed specifically for the 1934 long-distance race from England to Australia. Its aerodynamically clean wooden structure and retractable landing gear made it one of the fastest aircraft of its day; the red machine won that race and became an icon of aviation history.
This is a detailed model, rather for more experienced modelers. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etch with super glue. Fit the clear cockpit parts only after the varnish is on; a primer and an airbrush are advisable. The characteristic glossy red finish comes out best over a smoothly sanded and filled base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
