It is a newer, dimensionally accurate kit with finely engraved detail, the option of building the weapon bays open or closed and a representation of thrust vectoring. Modern armament for the internal bays is included. The exact contents of the package and the marking schemes are given in the enclosed instructions.
The F-22A Raptor is an American fifth-generation fighter intended for gaining air superiority. It combines concealment from radar (stealth), supersonic flight without afterburner (supercruise) and high agility thanks to a pair of engines with thrust vectoring. It carries its armament in internal bays in order to keep its radar signature low. It entered service in the second half of the first decade of the 21st century and is among the most capable air superiority fighters in the world.
Assemble and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage up. Apply primer to the plastic. The Raptor wears a characteristic two-tone gray camouflage with low-contrast national markings - gentle shading of the panels pays off, so that the surfaces do not look flat. Paint the weapon bays and the armament separately; if you want to display them open, give attention to their interiors. Bring out the engraved detail with a fine, restrained wash - modern machines tend to be well maintained and too heavy a patina looks unconvincing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
