An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet fighter aircraft Polikarpov I-16 type 28 in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit to be glued and painted. You will find the exact package contents and the range of markings in the enclosed instructions.
The I-16 was a Soviet single-seat low-wing fighter with retractable landing gear and a short barrel-shaped fuselage. The type 28 version belonged to the late modifications with the strong M-63 radial engine and it differed from the machine gun versions above all in its cannon armament in the wing (a pair of 20 mm cannons supplemented by machine guns). It was used in the opening fighting on the Eastern Front, where the subject already lagged behind newer fighters in performance.
Paint the cockpit and the radial engine and pick them out before closing the fuselage. Take care over clean filling of the barrel-shaped sides and the precise seating of the gun barrels in the leading edge of the wing. Apply the base over primer with an airbrush; metal as well as camouflage finishes come out well with a fine wash into the lines and a light exhaust patina. Fit the small parts only after the base has been sprayed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
