An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet multi-purpose U-2 biplane, later renamed the Po-2, in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The set offers a finely engraved surface, a clear cockpit part and decals, from which you can build a convincing model of this aircraft.
The U-2/Po-2 was designed by Nikolai Polikarpov at the turn of the nineteen twenties and thirties as a simple and reliable trainer. Thanks to its undemanding design it also served as a liaison, air ambulance and agricultural aircraft, and in the Second World War it became famous as a night harassment bomber. It is among the most widely built aircraft in history.
On a biplane, careful fitting and reinforcement of the glued joints help. It is better to finish painting the rigging and the struts once the model is assembled. Use liquid cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush for even coverage. Tensioning the rigging wires improves the overall impression.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
