CS63 Waffen SS Pea Dot Pattern Erbsenmuster, a Lifecolor paint set

A paint set from the Italian manufacturer Lifecolor for the dotted Erbsenmuster pattern, in German literally pea pattern, in English pea dot. It is a set, not a single shade, and that is the main purchasing distinction. From the plane tree pattern, for which the manufacturer has two seasonal sets, Erbsenmuster differs substantially: it is a late pattern from the end of the war, also designated Dot 44, and it has no green and brown side. It was printed as a regular field of small blotches in several tones over each other, so it is painted in layers and the density of the blotches decides the result more than the shades themselves. The binder is acrylic and the paints are thinned with water or with thinner of the same brand. This is different chemistry from enamel or lacquer, so do not thin or mix them with solvent-based paints.

Use

• late uniforms and camouflage smocks of Waffen-SS units from the years 1944 and 1945
• helmet covers and shelter quarters in the same pattern
• figures and busts on which the uniform is the main surface
• brush for the blotches, airbrush for the base surface and the highlighting

Who the set is for

For builders of figures and dioramas from the last year of the war who want the tones of one pattern together. Work from the base surface to the individual groups of blotches and finally highlight the edges of the folds. In small scales reduce the number of blotches, otherwise the surface merges into a single tone when seen from a distance.

Stir the paint thoroughly before use, the pigment settles to the bottom. Work in a ventilated space and use respiratory protection with an airbrush. The thinning ratio and the drying time are stated on the box.

The paints are supplied in the package in the volume stated. The thinner and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
