Preset fluid control knob for the Gaahleri Seeker

A replacement preset fluid control knob for the Gaahleri Seeker airbrush. The manufacturer lists it under the name preset fluid control knob as a separate part for this Advanced Series model. This is not an airbrush, nor a set of rear mechanism parts, but a single piece.

What the preset does

The knob screws into the rear of the body behind the spring and mechanically limits how far the needle may be drawn back. The limit you set does not change until you move the knob, so repeated pulls on the main lever give a line of the same width. On a dual-action airbrush this is the usual way to secure an even deposit through a long series of identical passes.

Fitting and maintenance

• According to the manufacturer's instructions, the knob is screwed in after the spring and the spring case.
• Set the limit on scrap paper first, and only then spray the model.
• Dissolve dried paint on the thread with a cleaner; the thread is fine.
• Release the preset when cleaning the airbrush, so the full needle travel is free.
