Acrylic Bases - Round 150 mm (Legion)

Acrylic Bases - Round 150 mm (Legion)

A round acrylic gaming base 150 mm in diameter. It is a gaming accessory for tabletop battles. Fifteen centimeters across is a format that amounts to a landmark on the board: such a model is visible from everywhere, hides badly, and its edge touches an opponent sooner than a player would expect.

The largest circle of the range

The sizes of the range run from small infantry discs right up to this one, and the difference is not only visual. A model on a circle 150 mm across needs a clear corridor, otherwise it will not get across terrain; at the same time a single body of it can cover a considerable part of a target zone. When deploying an army, such a model is therefore allowed for first and the other units are built around it. The Legion designation in the name marks out the size range the base belongs to. Which diameter your model should have, check in the rules of the system you play.

Practical notes

• A large circle hides badly behind terrain, so count on an opponent's line of sight.
• For movement the model needs a clear route without narrow gaps.
• The edge of the base is far from the center, so contact comes sooner.
• For transport it is a good idea to set aside a compartment of its own matching the footprint.

Who it is for

For players who have a large landmark model in an army and need a matching format beneath it, and for collectors standardizing a collection on one type of base. The name gives the acrylic material and the diameter; the other specifications are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
