A gray-green khaki named after the Komodo dragon. Dense pigment, a surface without shine and a bottle holding 17 ml with a dispensing dropper.

Komodo Khaki joins two things that rarely meet in a palette. The name refers to the Komodo dragon, that is to gray-green skin with a brown hint, and most tropical field uniforms are tuned exactly that way. One bottle therefore serves reptile monsters from fantasy games and infantry fighting in the jungle alike.
On a scaly surface it pays to lay the shade down as a base over the whole area, pull the deep seams between the scales together with a dark shade and finally bring out the individual scales with a lighter tone. On fabric, by contrast, it can be left to work on its own, because once dry it holds an even matte surface without the highlights that every field color is meant to avoid.
Working with the paint is undemanding. It thins with water, it gets into an airbrush after thinning with acrylic thinner and for ordinary brush painting it is applied straight from the bottle. The metal ball inside makes sure the pigment does not stay sitting at the bottom even after a longer break.
The shade belongs to the group of so-called muted colors, which look uninteresting on their own but are irreplaceable on a finished model. Truthful field equipment stands on them in particular, not on saturated tones.
