Acrylic Color PRUSSIAN BLUE

Acrylic Color Prussian Blue - a dark blue for figures

Prussian Blue is the classic dark Prussian blue, here in the version of the Acrylic Color figure line from Green Stuff World. It is an acrylic thinnable with water, and that is worth watching, because other manufacturers also sell oil paints and lacquers under the same shade name, and those have a completely different chemistry and a different thinner. This bottle is among the acrylics, it washes out in water and it mixes with other acrylics.

A dark base and highlighting in a batch

• A dark shade is well used as the under tone: you put it over the whole area and then highlight with a lighter blue or gray mixed in.
• With a larger batch of figures a dry brush pays off. You go over the whole unit with one lighter tone and the edges, the folds and the gear come out within a few minutes per figure.
• If you want a softer transition, apply thinned coats instead of a dry brush and let each one dry.
• It thins with water or with an acrylic thinner, never with a lacquer thinner or with mineral spirits.
• Shake the bottle, because dark pigments settle to the bottom particularly readily.

Who the color is for

For players who are building units in dark blue and want a quick route from base to highlight, and for painters of individual figures, for whom it serves as the deep shadow in a blue range. It also suits metal accessories with a blue cast and night scenes.

A water-thinnable acrylic. Keep out of reach of children, ventilate during longer work and close the bottle tightly after use.
