A thick acrylic paste in a dark brown earth shade, in a package with a volume of thirty milliliters. It carries grit, so with a single application you both color and texture the surface and do not have to scatter sand and then seal and paint it. The dark shade suits damp and fertile soil, the bottom of ditches and places where a light earth would look parched.
Apply it with a brush or a spatula onto a dry and degreased base. According to the manufacturer it dries in roughly five to thirty minutes depending on thickness and can be thinned with water or acrylic thinner. Wash the tools with water while the paste is wet. Let thick layers dry longer and do not speed them up with heat, or the surface will crack. Combining shades gives a good result: lay the dark paste into the recesses and the lighter one on the raised places, which creates the depth a uniform surface lacks.
For builders of dioramas and scenery, for painters of figures who make their own bases, and for anyone who builds an earthy surface without laborious layering of materials. A dark earth also tends to be the first shade used in a scene, because lighter layers then build well on it.
Keep the product out of the reach of children, ventilate while working and close the container after use, or the contents will dry out.
