ROCKET GREEN is the exact opposite of military tones. The green here is clean, loud and unveiled by gray, the way we know it from tin rockets, comic-book covers and from the times when the future was painted with no regard for camouflage. In modeling practice you reach for it with the hulls of fantastic machines, with gaming figures, with plastic toys and everywhere a marking or a stripe is to be visible across the whole table.
The dropper releases the paint in drops, so a mixed ratio can be written down and repeated even after a week. With pronounced greens that pays off: one drop of yellow shifts the tone to a more poisonous position, one drop of blue pulls it toward emerald. The saturated pigment meanwhile takes even quite pronounced brightening with white without losing its color and going gray.
Saturated green pigments do well when you work fast and apply in thin coats. The paint sets within minutes, and anyone who keeps returning to an area in progress with a brush for too long tears the coat underneath and a matte blotch arises.
A saturated green needs a light surface underneath. Over a black base it asserts itself slowly and looks muddy, whereas over a gray or a white it comes out fully already after the second coat. Anyone who wants depth lays a thin dark green into the shadows first and brightens only the upper areas, so that the light part carries the full color.
